UCHealth Denver-Area Facility Planning $119M Expansion

UCHealth Denver-Area Facility Planning $119M Expansion

UCHealth’s Highland Ranch hospital in Douglas County, Colorado is expanding with a $119 million project. The expansion will include two new buildings and the build-out of over 30,000 square feet of shell space on the top floor for a total addition of 314,000 square feet. This will add 14 emergency department beds to the existing 93 inpatient beds. Construction recently broke ground on the first building – a 194,000-square-foot hospital tower – and is set to begin in September on the second building which includes an outpatient surgery center and imaging center. Completion is expected by late 2025 due to overwhelming demand from patients since its opening in 2019. Merle Taylor from UCHealth stated that “our beds are full all time [sic], our operating rooms are fully booked” making this expansion necessary for their continued success as well as providing quality healthcare services for local communities
