Stream Realty Partners owns 40 properties along Sixth Street between Brazos Street and I-35, allowing them to shape the future of this edgy Austin neighborhood. Last week’s vote by Austin City Council to allow taller buildings on a portion of Sixth Street advanced Stream’s vision for a mixed-use district intended for round-the-clock use.
Raising the height restrictions gives Streams options; they plan to construct a 150 – 160 room hotel that is more than 70 feet high (5+ floors) on the 500 block, as well as build a 122 foot tall residential tower (10+ floors) on 600 block. Food and beverage purveyors will remain at the heart of this eclectic area while new developments are added around it.
