The San Manuel Investment Authority has acquired the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess, a large luxury resort located in Scottsdale, Arizona. The property is positioned on 65 acres in the Sonoran Desert and is known for its scale, resort programming, and destination amenities.
The Fairmont Scottsdale Princess offers 750 guest rooms and suites, including the resort’s exclusive Privado Villas. The property features a 44,000-square-foot full-service Well & Being Spa, which anchors its wellness offerings. On-site recreation includes six pools, providing a range of leisure options for guests across the expansive resort grounds.
Food and beverage is a significant component of the asset. The resort includes five distinct outlets, among them signature restaurants from noted chefs Richard Sandoval and Michael Mina. In addition to dining, the property incorporates eight retail stores, adding to its mixed-use resort environment and providing on-site shopping for guests and visitors.
The resort is adjacent to TPC Scottsdale, the golf facility that hosts the PGA Tour’s WM Phoenix Open. This proximity links the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess directly to one of the most prominent annual events on the professional golf calendar, reinforcing the resort’s positioning as a destination for both leisure travelers and event-driven visitation.
Programming at the resort extends beyond golf-related demand. The Fairmont Scottsdale Princess hosts several recurring special events that draw both local residents and out-of-town guests. Among the most notable are the Freedom Fest summer celebration and the Christmas at the Princess holiday festival, both of which are described as popular with the surrounding community and visitors.
The San Manuel Nation, whose investment arm completed the acquisition, is a federally recognized Native American tribe based on the San Manuel Indian Reservation near Highland, California. The transaction adds another luxury hospitality asset to the tribe’s portfolio. In the prior year, the tribe obtained full ownership of the Waldorf Astoria Monarch Beach Resort & Club in Dana Point, California, and it also holds a handful of other high-end resorts.
This latest acquisition underscores the tribe’s ongoing focus on upscale resort properties in prominent leisure markets. By expanding its holdings in branded, full-service luxury resorts with established event calendars and destination amenities, the San Manuel Nation continues to build a presence in the hospitality sector alongside its other enterprises.
