Arca Continental Coca-Cola Southwest Beverages has completed a major expansion of its bottling facility on San Antonio’s East Side, marking a significant upgrade to its regional industrial footprint. The company invested $42 million to enhance the plant at 1 Coca-Cola Place, located near the Frost Bank Center, as part of a broader effort to increase production and distribution capabilities.
The project adds 170,000 square feet of new warehouse space to the existing bottling complex and introduces a second production line. According to the company, the expansion nearly doubles the facility’s overall footprint, positioning the site to handle greater throughput as demand rises across Central Texas. The additional production line is intended to support higher volume output and improve the efficiency of beverage manufacturing at the location.
The newly built warehouse area is designed to hold about 20% more finished product than the previous configuration, giving Coca-Cola Southwest Beverages more room to manage seasonal peaks and holiday-related increases in beverage consumption. The storage expansion is expected to support smoother distribution from the San Antonio facility to customers throughout the region, with an emphasis on accommodating higher volume orders during busier periods.
Alongside the physical plant expansion, the company has increased its workforce to support the higher level of activity at the site. Coca-Cola Southwest Beverages has added approximately 80 employees in connection with the project, bringing total employment at the San Antonio operation to roughly 900 workers. The larger team reflects the greater production and logistics requirements associated with the upgraded facility.
The San Antonio investment is described as one of Coca-Cola Southwest Beverages’ major recent commitments to its operations in the area. The company is also applying a similar expansion approach in a dozen other regions, as it reinvests in its bottling facilities to align capacity with growing demand. By expanding an existing industrial asset rather than developing a new location, the firm is consolidating more production and storage functions at this established East Side site.
The completed project underscores the role of manufacturing-adjacent warehouse space in supporting beverage distribution across Central Texas, with the San Antonio facility serving as a key node in the company’s regional supply chain. The added square footage, increased storage capacity and additional production line collectively position the property to handle higher volumes while maintaining service levels during peak demand cycles.
