Amazon plans to invest $100 million to establish an advanced manufacturing facility in Greenwood, Indiana, adding a major industrial asset to the central Indiana market while creating 300 new jobs. The project represents a significant commitment by the company to expand its manufacturing capabilities that support its broader logistics and fulfillment ecosystem across North America.
Indiana Governor Mike Braun announced that Amazon will establish the new manufacturing facility in central Indiana by the end of 2028. He described the decision as a vote of confidence in the state’s manufacturing workforce, transportation infrastructure and overall business environment, highlighting Indiana’s ongoing push to attract large-scale industrial and logistics users.
Amazon will purchase and equip a 585,000-square-foot facility at 1175 Collins Road in Greenwood. The building will be configured to produce products that support the company’s fulfillment and robotics network across North America, positioning the site as a key node in Amazon’s internal supply chain for automation and operations equipment.
The Greenwood facility is planned to incorporate advanced fabrication processes, robotic welding, automated powder coating and assembly operations. These capabilities are expected to enable Amazon to manufacture specialized components and systems in-house, closely aligned with the needs of its logistics and robotics platforms.
State officials note that Indiana’s central location and established logistics infrastructure give the facility direct access to Amazon’s fulfillment network across North America. Proximity to major transportation corridors is expected to allow efficient distribution of the products manufactured at the Greenwood site to Amazon facilities nationwide, reinforcing central Indiana’s role as a strategic hub within the company’s broader industrial and logistics footprint.
