Cordillera Homes has confirmed that Hako San Café & Bar has signed a lease to become the anchor retail tenant at Central Peak Residences, a boutique condominium property in the heart of downtown Kirkland. The new hospitality concept is led by local coffee and hospitality entrepreneur Alen Fikic and is planned to open at the property in 2027.
Hako San is slated to occupy the larger of Central Peak Residences’ two ground-floor commercial spaces. The leased space totals approximately 3,060 square feet and will serve residents of the building as well as guests and the broader downtown Kirkland community. By anchoring the project’s street-level retail, the café and bar is positioned to be a key neighborhood amenity.
The concept blends Japanese culinary influences with the relaxed character associated with European cafés. According to the announcement, Hako San will operate as an all-day destination, offering specialty coffee alongside Japanese- and European-inspired food and bakery selections. The menu will also include wine and cocktails, reflecting the dual café-and-bar positioning.
Central Peak Residences is described as a boutique collection of 26 single-level condominium homes. The residences range from approximately 1,150 to 2,415 square feet, with all units situated above the ground-floor commercial component that includes Hako San and a second, smaller retail space. The relatively limited number of units underscores the project’s scale as an intimate residential community rather than a large-scale tower.
The property benefits from a location steps from several notable Kirkland destinations. It is situated near Marina Park, Kirkland Urban, the Cross-Kirkland Corridor and the Lake Washington waterfront. These nearby amenities and public spaces position Central Peak within an established pedestrian environment that already draws local residents, office workers and visitors.
By introducing an all-day hospitality use at the base of a small condominium project, the Hako San lease formally activates Central Peak’s retail component ahead of its planned opening in 2027. The café and bar’s combination of food, beverage and social space is expected to serve both building residents and the wider downtown Kirkland area, further integrating the project into the surrounding urban fabric.
