Lactalis to Hire More Employees in Chicago After $3.2B Kraft Acquisition

Groupe Lactalis, the world’s largest dairy maker, is expanding its presence in Chicago following a $3.2 billion deal to acquire cheese brands from Kraft Heinz Co. The family-owned company plans to hire nearly 100 people at its offices located at 540 W. Madison Street and anticipates having about 220 employees by the end of 2021, bringing their total workforce in this division up to 850 across multiple locations including Wisconsin, New York and California. This acquisition of Kraft’s natural cheese business marks 39% of Lactalis’ total U.S business and will provide an influx of employment opportunities for those living in or near Chicago area as well as other states mentioned above with manufacturing facilities already established there..
