CREDA Washington State, formerly known as the NAIOP chapter in the region, has announced plans for its 2026 Night of the Stars awards program, scheduled to take place in October. The event will mark a significant milestone for the organization as it celebrates 50 years as a CREDA chapter, tracing its origins back to 1976 when it was founded as the Puget Sound Chapter of the National Association of Industrial Parks.
This year’s Night of the Stars will feature the induction of industrial developer Bart Brynestad into CREDA’s Hall of Fame. The honor recognizes Brynestad’s long-standing involvement with the commercial real estate community and his sustained leadership within the organization over multiple decades.
Brynestad first became involved with the association in 1995, joining more than 30 years ago. Over the course of his membership, he played a key role in expanding CREDA’s reach, including helping to establish the South Sound committee, an initiative aimed at strengthening engagement and representation in that part of the market. His contributions extended beyond committee work, as he ultimately rose to serve as president of the CREDA Washington State chapter in 2005.
Following his presidency, Brynestad remained active in CREDA’s leadership ranks, continuing to support the organization’s programs and initiatives. His Hall of Fame recognition comes on the heels of his retirement from Panattoni Development Company in 2025, marking a capstone moment to a career closely tied to industrial real estate and association service.
The Night of the Stars program will also highlight achievements from other segments of the commercial real estate industry. CBRE’s Jennifer Seversen has been named retail broker of the year by the Commercial Broker Association, an honor announced by the association’s president and CEO, Mary Hull-Drury. Seversen, who brings three decades of experience in retail leasing, is credited with building a track record for turning complex real estate developments into successful retail projects.
By combining a 50th anniversary celebration with recognition of both long-tenured leadership and current brokerage performance, the upcoming event underscores the role of professional associations in shaping industrial and retail real estate practice across Washington State.
