Recent activity across Texas commercial real estate includes a series of leadership moves, team expansions and a multifamily asset trade, underscoring ongoing investment and advisory activity in the region.
Cushman & Wakefield reported that Heinrich Cronje has joined the firm as a Managing Director in its Houston Healthcare Advisory Practice. Cronje focuses on healthcare real estate and brings broad commercial real estate experience to the platform. His practice spans representation of healthcare tenants, leading health systems and institutional and entrepreneurial owners of medical office properties, as well as other sophisticated healthcare owners, operators and investors. Over the course of his brokerage career, Cronje has closed healthcare transactions with an aggregate value exceeding $300 million.
Northmarq expanded its retail investment sales capabilities with the addition of a Houston-based team led by longtime partners Matt Berry, Robbie Kilcrease and Drew Reinking. The trio previously served as directors with CBRE’s Texas Retail Investment Sales group. They join Northmarq as managing directors and members of the firm’s National Shopping Center Group, with a mandate to strengthen the company’s coast-to-coast retail investment sales offering and broaden its coverage across Texas.
Weitzman has hired Douglas (Doug) Nash, MBA, CPA, as Chief Financial Officer. In his new role, Nash is responsible for overseeing the company’s finances, evaluating financial risks and opportunities, and setting and tracking financial goals, objectives and budgets. Nash most recently served as CFO of The Retail Connection, a Dallas-based retail real estate services firm, where he led the finance and accounting, treasury, information technology and property management divisions.
Welcome Group, a Houston-based commercial real estate investor and developer focused on manufacturing, laboratory, warehouse and distribution facilities, announced the addition of five professionals. Rob Canizalez has joined Welcome Group as Senior Property Manager, while Sabrina Hollis has been hired as Property Manager. The firm also named Gillian Boyer as Operational Accounting Director and Wesley Hightower as Finance Manager. In addition, Welcome Realty Advisors, a subsidiary of Welcome Group, brought on William Hirtz as a Leasing Associate.
On the investment sales side, Colliers announced the sale of The Vic at Jordan Ranch, a 365-unit multifamily community located at 2011 Texas Heritage Parkway in Katy, Texas. The Colliers team of Jaleel Adatia, Chip Nash, Bob Heard and Nolan Mainguy represented the seller in the transaction. While financial terms of the sale were not disclosed, the transaction highlights ongoing buyer and seller engagement for institutional-grade multifamily product in the Katy market.
