Peak Construction Corporation has been selected to build Scannell Properties’ Interstate Aviation Hub in Union, Ohio, adding a new speculative industrial facility to the regional logistics landscape. The project calls for a 305,480-square-foot warehouse designed to support modern distribution and aviation-related users, with an emphasis on truck and trailer functionality as well as on-site employee parking.
The single-building development is planned with a 36-foot clear height, aligning with current standards for contemporary bulk industrial assets. The facility will be equipped with 34 dock doors to handle high volumes of truck traffic, along with two drive-in doors to accommodate at-grade loading needs. The design also includes 26 knock-out panels, offering flexibility for users that may require additional loading in the future.
Site planning for the Interstate Aviation Hub incorporates both employee and trailer parking to support large-scale industrial operations. The project will provide 130 car spaces for employees and visitors, along with 83 trailer stalls to serve logistics, distribution, and aviation-adjacent users that rely on trailer storage and staging. The program also includes 2,755 square feet of office space, giving future occupants a built-in administrative area within the facility.
Peak Construction is delivering the project in partnership with a familiar project team. Ware Malcomb is serving as architect, bringing industrial design expertise to the speculative facility, while Arcadis is acting as civil engineer, overseeing site-related infrastructure and engineering. Project completion is targeted for the second quarter of 2027, positioning the building to deliver new Class A industrial supply into the market on a defined timeline.
The Interstate Aviation Hub is located at the intersection of Interstates 70 and 75, a key logistics crossroads in the region. The site is only minutes from Dayton International Airport, giving prospective tenants access to both ground and air transportation networks. Proximity to the two major interstate corridors offers direct connectivity to densely populated communities, enhancing the property’s reach for regional and national distribution.
