Colliers Expands Footprint With New DC Region HQ
CRE Market Beat Take
Colliers’ headquarters relocation highlights continued demand from professional services users for well-located, transit-accessible office space tailored to collaboration and talent attraction, favoring landlords that can deliver modern, flexible layouts in core corridors.

Colliers has relocated its Washington, D.C. headquarters to 1919 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW, establishing a new base in the heart of the city. The firm reports that the office occupies more than 18,000 square feet and is positioned along a major commercial corridor with direct access to the Metro and nearby amenities. The move is intended to support the company’s continued growth in the D.C. region while providing a workplace tailored to how its professionals collaborate with each other and with clients.

The new headquarters is designed around a mix of flexible spaces that aim to bring teams together while still accommodating focused work. Colliers describes a layout that balances open and closed offices with huddle rooms and wellness rooms, reflecting a workplace strategy that emphasizes both collaboration and individual productivity. The configuration is meant to give employees a variety of settings for meetings, heads-down tasks, and client engagement within the same footprint.

According to Matt Gannon, Executive Managing Director | Washington, D.C. & Head of Agency Leasing at Colliers, the search for a new headquarters focused on finding an environment that matches the firm’s identity and supports how its professionals work together. He notes that the Pennsylvania Avenue location offers an opportunity to bring teams closer, enhance cross-business collaboration, and continue attracting talent while aiming to deliver a strong experience for clients. The office’s access to transit and city amenities is presented as part of that value proposition.

The headquarters will also serve as a hub for additional Colliers business lines. Teams from Colliers Engineering & Design are expected to operate from the new space, including specialized practice groups that focus on interiors, federal projects, and municipal assignments. Colliers Valuation & Advisory Services will also be based at the Pennsylvania Avenue office, creating a multi-disciplinary setting that consolidates several of the firm’s capabilities under one roof in the D.C. core.

By concentrating brokerage, engineering, design, and valuation professionals in a single, centrally located office, Colliers is positioning its D.C. headquarters as a collaborative platform for internal teams and client service. The move underscores the firm’s commitment to a physical office presence in the city and reflects an emphasis on workspace design that supports both current operations and anticipated future growth.
