Bob McDonald, Veteran Hotelier, Joins Murphy Asset Management

Bob McDonald has joined Chicago-based Murphy Asset Management as Managing Director, bringing 30 years of hospitality management expertise to the firm. He previously held VP of Operations positions with Marshall / TPG Hotels, Resorts & Marinas and privately-owned management groups. His deep knowledge in hotels such as Marriott, Hilton, IHG and Hyatt is complemented by his experience with asset prospecting, new build development and hospitality adaptive reuse projects. Additionally he serves on the Board of Directors for Pamplin Business School’s Hospitality and Tourism program at Virginia Tech while also being a member of Hilton’s Circle of Leadership.

Hotel veteran Bob McDonald has recently joined Murphy Asset Management based out in Chicago; bringing along three decades worth of expertise within the hospitality sector including operational roles from third party companies such as Marshall/TPG Hotels Resorts & Marinas alongside private ownership groups too. With an expansive knowledge base that covers hotel chains like Marriott ,Hilton ,IHG plus Hyatt -McDonald also boasts proficiency when it comes to asset prospecting ,new builds developments alongside adapting reuses projects . Furthermore he currently holds a chairmanship role within Pamplin Business Schools Hospitality Tourism Program situated at Virginia Tech whilst simultaneously being part if Hiltons Circle Of Leadership .
