Amwins has started work on a new headquarters project at the former Sharon Station site, where it plans to construct a 15-story, 250,000-square-foot office tower at 4415 Sharon Road. The company intends to consolidate its operations in the building and use the property as its corporate headquarters once construction is complete.
According to reporting from the Charlotte Business Journal, the planned tower will feature a program of nine office floors situated above six levels of parking. The building will also include a lobby area and approximately 7,000 square feet of ground-floor retail space, creating a mixed-use environment at the base of the office structure. The new development will replace six existing structures on the site, which are expected to be demolished in the coming week.
Project delivery is targeted for roughly two and a half years from now. Amwins expects to begin moving more than 500 employees into the new headquarters during the fourth quarter of 2028, indicating a phased transition into the building aligned with completion and initial occupancy. The scale of the employee move underscores the project’s role as a significant corporate consolidation in this submarket.
The Keith Corp. is serving as the developer for the new headquarters tower. Construction is being led by general contractor Brasfield & Gorrie, which has been engaged as the lead contractor for the project. Architecture and design responsibilities are shared between LS3P Associates and Redline Design Group, which will collaborate on the building’s design and program. On the retail side, Thrift Commercial Real Estate Services has been retained to handle retail leasing for the approximately 7,000 square feet of street-level space.
Amwins assembled control of the site in December 2024, when it acquired the property from local developer Childress Klein for $16.8 million. That transaction cleared the way for the company to plan and advance a purpose-built headquarters facility tailored to its operational needs. With demolition of the existing improvements imminent and construction underway, the project marks a notable corporate office commitment and a new ground-up addition to the local office inventory.
