New York City-based coworking provider The Malin has signed a lease for its first location in San Francisco, committing to 13,500 square feet at 100 Sansome St. in the city’s Financial District. The company expects to open the new ground-floor workspace in late 2026, adding another market to its growing national footprint.
The San Francisco outpost is planned with a mix of workspace types aimed at a range of users. The Malin San Francisco will include 11 private offices for enclosed, dedicated users, 12 dedicated desks, 5 meeting rooms and 9 phone booths, along with a library area and a kitchen. The programming mirrors the brand’s focus on a curated, design-forward environment intended to support both individual work and collaboration.
Located within 100 Sansome, also known as the historic Adam Grant building, the space will sit in the heart of San Francisco’s Financial District. Members will have convenient access to several nearby city districts, including Jackson Square, SoMa and Union Square, as well as the waterfront. The central location positions the coworking facility within reach of a wide cross-section of downtown office users and amenity areas.
The expansion into San Francisco is being executed in partnership with Deka Immobilien Investment GmbH. With this lease, The Malin’s total national footprint will reach 284,000 square feet, spanning a portfolio of locations in New York, Austin, Savannah, Nashville, Boston and Washington, DC. The firm continues to build out a network that connects multiple major office and technology hubs.
The Malin’s leadership views San Francisco as a complementary market to its existing presence on the East Coast and in Southern states, particularly given its experience serving venture capital and tech-focused members. By adding a Financial District location, the company aims to engage with the city’s growing base of technology and artificial intelligence companies from a centralized, transit-accessible address.
While specific lease terms were not disclosed, the commitment of 13,500 square feet on the ground floor of a historic Financial District office building marks a notable coworking entry into San Francisco’s downtown market. The late-2026 opening timeline provides a runway for the company to build awareness among potential members and align with evolving workplace strategies within the region’s technology and professional services sectors.
