Colliers has advised nbkc bank on the acquisition of a new headquarters property at 7400 West 110th Street in the Overland Park area of Kansas City. The transaction positions nbkc to relocate its main office operations into a larger, multi-tenant office building while maintaining its footprint in the Kansas City market.
The acquisition was led by a Colliers team including Bryan Johnson, Principal, and President Ed Elder, who represented nbkc bank in the purchase. Following the transaction, Colliers professionals Ryan Biery, Senior Vice President, and Reagan O’Toole, Vice President, have been tapped to oversee future leasing efforts at the property, reflecting the bank’s intention to both occupy and lease space within the asset.
The building totals approximately 127,000 square feet across seven stories. Constructed in 1989, the property will be re-positioned by nbkc, which plans to elevate it to Class A status. The bank intends to enhance the site and introduce a range of amenities as part of its upgrade program. The renovated building is expected to accommodate the majority of nbkc’s employees currently based in Kansas City and will also include an on-site bank branch.
nbkc has operated from its existing headquarters at 8320 Ward Parkway in Kansas City since 2017. With the acquisition of 7400 West 110th Street, the bank has outlined plans to transition its headquarters staff to the new facility in 2027. This move is framed by nbkc as a milestone in its growth and a commitment to deeper investment in the local community, according to comments from Johnson.
By securing a larger, upgradable office building in Overland Park and engaging Colliers both for the acquisition and subsequent leasing, nbkc is reshaping its long-term workplace strategy within the Kansas City area. The combination of owner-occupier use and third-party leasing at a repositioned asset underscores how financial institutions are adjusting their real estate footprints to support evolving operational needs while maintaining a presence in established business corridors.
