The combination of a 1,000-room hotel and large convention center alongside an amusement park positions this site to capture both leisure and group demand, potentially increasing length of stay and on-site spend for hospitality investors.

The Circuit of the Americas, widely recognized as a venue for an annual Formula 1 race, is being positioned for a broader role as a multi-faceted entertainment destination. Ownership is advancing plans that go beyond motorsports, highlighted by the development of a new amusement park and a significant hospitality and meetings complex.

The planned amusement park, branded as COTA Land, is designed to span 30 acres adjacent to the existing racetrack facilities. According to reporting cited from the Austin Business Journal, the park is expected to open this summer, adding a year-round attraction that complements the venue’s event-driven traffic. The initiative represents a notable expansion of on-site offerings beyond periodic race and event schedules.

COTA Land is expected to feature 30 rides intended to appeal to a wide range of age groups. This mix is aimed at creating a family-friendly environment that can draw both local visitors and out-of-town guests. While specific ride types are not detailed, the emphasis on serving different age segments suggests a diversified attraction mix rather than a narrow thrill-ride focus.

Food and beverage are a central component of the plan. The amusement park program includes a 40,000-square-foot indoor dining facility named T20, which is positioned as the primary food hall-style venue within the park. In addition to T20, management plans to distribute smaller food and beverage vendors throughout the grounds, indicating a dispersed concession model intended to serve guests across multiple park zones.

Guest comfort and climate considerations are also being built into the design. Management is emphasizing shaded areas within the park layout and incorporating heat-mitigating features. These include the planned installation of misters throughout the park, which are expected to help manage guest experience during warmer periods and potentially extend the usable hours and seasons for the outdoor attractions.

Beyond the amusement park itself, there are additional plans for a substantial hospitality and meetings investment near the site. The vision includes a 1,000-room hotel paired with a 460,000-square-foot convention center. This program would materially expand on-site lodging capacity and introduce large-scale meeting and event space to the area, creating the potential for multi-day group visitation aligned with both leisure and business demand.

RIDA Development Corp. has been identified as the developer for the hotel and convention center project. While detailed timelines, branding, and financing terms have not been disclosed, the inclusion of a high-room-count hotel and a large convention facility signals a strategic push to position the broader property as a regional hub for entertainment, conferences, and large events in addition to its existing motorsports portfolio.
