Recent Florida activity spans leadership moves, investment sales and repositioning work across multiple property types. The NRP Group has appointed Taylor Lindsley as Vice President of Development, Florida. In this role, Lindsley will oversee suburban and urban multifamily development statewide, working with a broad network of brokers, owners, architects, attorneys and public-sector partners to move projects through zoning, entitlement and site-plan approvals.
In the retail investment sales arena, SRS Real Estate Partners completed the $5.29 million sale of Shoppes at Hunt Club in Apopka, FL. The 8,211-square-foot, multi-tenant property at 3301 E. Semoran Boulevard was built in 2006 and sits on 1.48 acres. It is fully occupied by four tenants: Firehouse Subs, Smoothie King, Spectrum and MUV Dispensary. The buyer and seller in this transaction were not disclosed.
Developers are also advancing mixed-use projects. Rosso Development, Midtown Development and Proper Hospitality have opened the Midtown Park Residences by Proper sales gallery, providing an early look at a planned 28-story residential tower within Midtown’s five-acre, $2 billion mixed-use community. The tower is programmed for 288 residential units, and the sales gallery is positioned as an immersive preview of the forthcoming building.
Repositioning work continues in infill submarkets. Comras Company has fully leased 33,000 square feet in The Canopy, a newly repositioned mixed-use building in the heart of Coconut Grove. The completed project converts a legacy retail and fitness property into a modern workplace environment, signaling a shift in how the asset is used while maintaining its role within the neighborhood’s commercial fabric.
Investment sales remain active in Central Florida’s suburban corridors as well. Colliers announced the sale of Spruce Creek Shoppes, a 42,203-square-foot retail center located along the US 27-441 corridor in the Summerfield/The Villages submarket, for $13.5 million. The property is located at 17860 Southeast 109th Avenue in Summerfield, Florida. Colliers’ Tommy Isola, Harry Blyden and Billy Weiser represented the seller, Spruce Creek Holdings, in the transaction.
Together, these updates highlight ongoing capital flows into Florida retail assets, continued demand for repositioned mixed-use product and fresh leadership capacity focused on multifamily development across the state.
