Sage Hospitality has promoted Daniel del Olmo to the role of CEO, elevating a leader who has been with the Denver-based hospitality investor since 2020. The company, which was founded 41 years ago, operates more than 140 hotels, restaurants and entertainment venues nationwide, including 48 properties located in Colorado. Sage employs nearly 7,000 people across its related business lines.
Del Olmo previously served as co-CEO at Sage Hospitality before this appointment. His move into the sole CEO position follows a career of roughly 25 years in the global hospitality sector. Prior to joining Sage, he spent around 11 years with Wyndham Hotel Group, adding large-brand and international experience to his background.
Sage Hospitality operates through four distinct companies: Sage Hotel Management, Sage Restaurant Concepts, Sage Studio and Sage Investments. Together, these businesses span hotel management, food and beverage concepts, creative and branding services and investment activities, with the combined platform providing the scale to support a portfolio that reaches across multiple U.S. markets.
In a separate leadership change in Denver commercial real estate, Trammell Crow Co. (TCC) has named Megan Kranichfeld as its new Denver office market leader. According to reporting from the Denver Business Journal, Kranichfeld has been responsible for leading the company’s industrial development initiatives in Colorado since 2023. Her new position broadens her remit from industrial to the full Denver office market.
As Denver office market leader, Kranichfeld will oversee day-to-day operations as well as the strategic direction of new development and investment activity for both TCC and its residential subsidiary, High Street Residential. The role includes coordinating planning, execution and capital deployment across the firm’s office and residential pipeline in the Denver area.
Since Kranichfeld joined Trammell Crow Co., the firm’s Denver pipeline has expanded to more than 2 million square feet of speculative development. In addition, TCC reports that it has 3.8 million square feet of build-to-suit projects currently under construction in the Denver market. These projects reflect both the company’s ongoing focus on Denver and the scale of its development commitments in the region.
Together, the leadership changes at Sage Hospitality and Trammell Crow Co. highlight the prominence of Denver as a base for both hospitality investment and large-scale commercial development activity. With a refresh at the top of Sage’s national platform and a new market leader guiding TCC’s Denver operations and pipeline, both organizations are positioning their local leadership to manage existing portfolios and future growth.
