**Gencom Acquires The Ritz-Carlton New York, Central Park**
Gencom, a prominent lodging investment firm, has acquired The Ritz-Carlton New York, Central Park, a 253-room luxury hotel located at 50 Central Park South in Midtown Manhattan. This purchase marks Gencom’s third high-profile hotel acquisition in New York City within the past 16 months. The firm previously acquired the Thompson Central Park in 2024 and the InterContinental New York Times Square in 2025.
According to Bloomberg News, the seller of The Ritz-Carlton was Westbrook Partners. While the final purchase price was not disclosed, 2024 reports had cited a bidding price of approximately $400 million.
This acquisition also represents Gencom’s eleventh Ritz-Carlton-branded project and was financed by Banco Inbursa.
“Gencom continues to see compelling long-term opportunities in New York City, particularly for luxury assets with enduring global appeal,” said Karim Alibhai, founder and principal of Gencom. “This acquisition builds upon our growing New York platform and further strengthens our presence in one of the world’s leading hospitality markets.”
