**Scheels Megastore Announces Cedar Park Opening Date**
Scheels, the popular sporting goods and outdoor retailer, has announced that its highly anticipated Cedar Park location will officially open during the first week of September. First revealed in 2023, the new store will be housed within a massive 378,000-square-foot space at the 117-acre CedarView mixed-use development.
The store will feature approximately 75 specialty shops and offer a staggering one million products, ranging from hunting and fishing gear to home décor. Known for its engaging retail experiences, Scheels operates in a similar category to retailers like Cabela’s and Bass Pro Shops.
To support its operations, the Cedar Park location will hire more than 200 full-time employees, with a total workforce of around 500.
CedarView, the broader development hosting the new Scheels, is anchored by a Nebraska Furniture Mart. In addition to its large retail footprint, the development will also include at least 700,000 square feet of warehouse space and 250,000 square feet of retail space.
Adding to the scope of the project, Great Lakes Capital is developing a full-service Marriott hotel and convention center on-site. The hotel will include 297 guest rooms, 30,000 square feet of event and meeting space, a parking garage, a full-service restaurant, a breakfast café, and an expansive pool area. The hotel is slated to open in early 2027.
