**Seattle Social Housing Developer Appoints Ginger Segel as Chief Real Estate Development Officer**
The Seattle Social Housing Developer has announced the addition of housing policy and development expert Ginger Segel to its leadership team. With nearly four decades of experience in the housing sector, Segel will serve as the organization’s Chief Real Estate Development Officer.
Segel’s career in housing advocacy began in the late 1980s as a tenant organizer during a time when Seattle saw the demolition of thousands of single-room occupancy (SRO) apartments to make way for office towers and luxury developments. Since then, she has held several influential roles in the field.
Her previous positions include Housing Director and Director of Advocacy and Resident Services at the Low Income Housing Institute, Executive Director of the Washington Low Income Housing Network (the predecessor to the Housing Alliance), and Chief Development Services Officer at Community Frameworks, a nonprofit dedicated to developing affordable housing and creating homeownership opportunities for working families.
Seattle Social Housing is a public development authority tasked with developing, owning, leasing, and maintaining mixed-income housing that remains permanently affordable for Seattle residents. The addition of Segel brings extensive experience and leadership to the organization as it continues its mission to address the city’s housing needs.
