**UNT Dallas Unveils $100 Million STEM Facility to Bolster Health and Science Workforce**

The University of North Texas at Dallas (UNT Dallas) has officially opened its new $100 million STEM facility, marking a transformative milestone for the institution and the broader North Texas community. The cutting-edge building is touted as the most significant addition to the UNT Dallas campus in the university’s history.

Spanning 120,220 square feet, the facility was completed in just two years after breaking ground in September 2023. It is set to open to students for the Spring 2026 semester, beginning January 12. The building boasts 18 classrooms, 12 state-of-the-art laboratories, and a large event venue designed to support both academic and community events.

The new STEM center will initially house programs in biology, chemistry, mathematics, and neuroscience, with a mission to enhance pathways into healthcare and science careers. It plays a key role in expanding workforce pipelines for fields including nursing, dentistry, pharmacy, optometry, and more. These programs are being developed in collaboration with UNT Health Science Center in Fort Worth, particularly its Colleges of Nursing and Pharmacy and the Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine.

The STEM facility was designed by Stantec and HarrisonKornberg Architects, with construction led by Vaughn Construction. Funding for the project was allocated by the Texas Legislature during its 2021 legislative session.

This investment underscores UNT Dallas’s commitment to cultivating a skilled, diverse healthcare and science workforce for the state of Texas.
