**Transwestern Begins Construction on Next Phase of The RO in Houston**

Transwestern has officially broken ground on the next phase of The RO, a mixed-use development spanning 17 acres at the intersection of West Alabama and Buffalo Speedway in Houston.

This expanding project will feature a variety of upscale offerings, including The Birdsall, Auberge Collection — Houston’s first Auberge-branded hotel and private residences. In addition, the development will include 80,000 square feet of restaurant and boutique retail space, The Clayton, a 317-unit luxury multifamily residence, and modern office space.

Key components of the development are set to be delivered in multiple phases. The RO’s first building, a 145,000-square-foot Class AA office space, is currently nearing completion and is scheduled for tenant occupancy by June 2026. The Birdsall, Retail Village, and The Clayton are all expected to be completed by late 2027.

The Birdsall will be a 34-story tower designed by the renowned architectural firm Kohn Pedersen Fox (KPF) and will include 44 exclusive private residences situated above a 105-room boutique luxury hotel. The tower’s design pays homage to the architectural character of the nearby River Oaks community.

Retail Village, envisioned by Michael Hsu Office of Architecture, will offer a curated mix of restaurants and boutique shopping, further enhancing the destination’s appeal.

The RO has received substantial financial backing from a group of institutions, including Madison Realty Capital, Citizens Capital, Nomura Real Estate Asset Management, Amegy Bank, and Texas Capital.

This next phase marks a significant step forward in the realization of The RO as one of Houston’s premier live, work, and play environments.
