**Stellantis to Reopen Illinois Plant, Launch Major U.S. Investment Initiative**
Global automotive leader Stellantis has unveiled plans to invest $13 billion in expanding its U.S. operations over the next four years. The sweeping investment strategy aims to introduce five new vehicles and create more than 5,000 manufacturing jobs across facilities in Illinois, Ohio, Michigan, and Indiana.
A major component of the plan includes the reopening of the Belvidere Assembly Plant in Illinois, which the company shuttered in February 2023 amid broader cost-cutting efforts. Stellantis will allocate over $600 million to revive and retool the facility, with production expected to begin in 2027. The plant is projected to add approximately 3,300 new jobs.
In Ohio, Stellantis is committing $400 million to upgrade its Toledo Assembly Complex, while $100 million will be invested in retooling the Warren Truck Assembly Plant in Michigan.
This investment marks a significant step in Stellantis’s strategy to enhance its manufacturing footprint and product offerings in the competitive U.S. automotive market.
