The Nicholas Family of Companies Expands into Auto Dealership Construction with Acquisition of JNC
The Nicholas Family of Companies has announced the acquisition of Joseph Nicholas Construction Corporation (JNC), a Schaumburg-based construction firm specializing in the development of automotive dealerships.
As part of the acquisition, JNC will become a dedicated automotive facility construction studio within The Nicholas Family of Companies. The move is aimed at expanding the company’s footprint in the dealership construction sector nationwide by leveraging JNC’s specialized expertise in this market.
Although similar in name, JNC was not previously affiliated with The Nicholas Family of Companies. With this integration, JNC will be relocated from Schaumburg to the Nicholas Family of Companies’ headquarters in Mount Prospect, Illinois. Joey Mariconda, formerly JNC’s director of construction, will now lead the automotive division under Nicholas & Associates as Director of Automotive Facility Construction Studio.
Nicholas & Associates is the diverse construction arm of the Nicholas Family of Companies, a second-generation firm with a presence in Illinois, Wisconsin, and Florida since 1978.
This strategic move comes amid strong growth in the U.S. auto dealership market, which was valued at $2.95 trillion in 2025 and is projected to reach $3.68 trillion over the next five years. There are currently approximately 16,000 franchised dealerships across the country.
Through this expansion, The Nicholas Family of Companies aims to become a key player in the dealership construction space, offering tailored solutions to meet the evolving needs of the automotive retail industry.
