**IBC Bank Plans Hotel Conversion of Downtown San Antonio Office Tower**

IBC Bank is preparing to transform its downtown San Antonio office building into a major new hotel. Following the departure of former tenant Visionworks from the IBC Centre I Tower, located at 175 E. Houston Street, the bank is proposing a redevelopment plan to create a 300-room hotel. The property is currently under review by the City of San Antonio, and construction is slated to begin in spring 2026.

The bank’s adjacent property, IBC Centre II, continues to house its office operations.

In addition to the hotel conversion, IBC Bank plans to construct a new parking garage beside the building. The proposed garage will include four levels of amenities on its upper floors. With 300 rooms, the planned hotel would be comparable in scale to some of San Antonio’s most prominent hospitality destinations, including the St. Anthony Hotel, Omni La Mansión del Rio, and The Menger Hotel.

The project design is being led by Dallas-based firm HKS Architects. Dimension Hospitality, known for operating the Embassy Suites by Hilton San Antonio Riverwalk Downtown, is part of the development team.

This proposed development signals another significant repositioning of downtown office real estate in response to changing tenant demands and the evolving commercial landscape.
