Volumetric Building Companies Nears Completion of The Astir Callowhill in Philadelphia
Volumetric Building Companies (VBC), a Philadelphia-based leader in modular design and construction, is wrapping up work on its largest self-developed project in the city to date—The Astir Callowhill.
Located at 1314 Spring Garden Street, The Astir Callowhill is a seven-story mixed-use building featuring 149 residential units and ground-floor retail space. VBC served as the architect, builder, and developer for the project, while Scully Co. is managing leasing and daily operations.
“This is a milestone not only for our team, but for modular construction in Philadelphia,” said Vaughan Buckley, CEO of Volumetric Building Companies. “The Astir Callowhill represents the efficiency, quality, and design-forward thinking that our approach makes possible, delivering much-needed housing faster without sacrificing character or comfort for residents.”
The residential building offers a range of layouts, from studios to two-bedroom apartments. It sits just steps from the Broad Street Line and is surrounded by a growing selection of restaurants, bars, and coffee shops—making it a prime location for urban living.
