**Fenway CDC Celebrates Opening of Burbank Terrace Apartments in Boston**

The City of Boston and the Fenway Community Development Corporation (CDC) have officially opened the Burbank Terrace Apartments, a new residential development that brings 27 income-restricted units to the East Fens neighborhood. This marks Fenway CDC’s first ground-up construction project in over 20 years.

Completed in partnership with the city and state, the project is a major step forward in providing affordable housing options for Boston residents. Fenway CDC purchased the property at 72 Burbank Street in 2021 from a private developer. The site benefited from pre-approved zoning, which accelerated the development process, cutting more than a year from the timeline.

“Making Burbank Terrace a reality required collaboration among city, state, and private partners,” said Steven Farrell, Executive Director of Fenway CDC. “Families living here now have guaranteed affordable homes for years to come thanks to these collective efforts.”

Built on the site of what was formerly a 3,500-square-foot parking lot, the seven-story building includes a mix of eight studio units, seven one-bedroom units, and 12 two-bedroom units. The development is a significant milestone for Fenway CDC and a testament to the power of community-focused housing solutions.
