**55-Story Condo Tower Breaks Ground in LIC’s Court Square**
A new 55-story condominium tower has officially broken ground in Long Island City’s Court Square. Developed through a joint effort by Incoco Capital, Charney Companies, and Tavros, the future skyline-altering tower will be located at 24-19 Jackson Avenue and 45-03 23rd Street. The formal name of the building has not yet been announced.
“Our dream of creating condos in one of the most electric neighborhoods in New York City is now becoming a reality,” said Sam Charney, Principal at Charney Companies. “Our journey to groundbreaking has been one of perseverance, challenging work, and vision, all supported by a world-class team of professionals, colleagues, and of course, our partners.”
The development is the result of nearly a decade of planning and property acquisition. Charney Companies and Tavros began assembling the site in 2016, ultimately acquiring seven contiguous townhouse properties and securing air rights from two neighboring sites. The final piece came in 2022 when Incoco Capital joined the partnership, purchasing additional land from Japanese hotel group Toyoko Inn. This acquisition doubled the original site’s size, paving the way for the commencement of construction.
The groundbreaking marks a significant milestone for the Court Square area, which continues to evolve into one of New York City’s most dynamic residential and commercial hubs.
