**Hebrew SeniorLife Secures State Funding for Affordable Senior Housing in Stoughton**

Hebrew SeniorLife, a nonprofit organization, has announced it will develop 96 units of permanently affordable housing for older adults in Stoughton, Massachusetts. The project has received allocations of both state and federal low-income housing tax credits, along with additional subsidies provided by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

The initiative is part of a broader $182 million investment announced by the Healey-Driscoll Administration, which will support 21 rental housing developments across the state. In total, the funding aims to create or preserve 1,245 housing units for low-income residents.

The new Stoughton development will be located at 338 Canton Street on a currently undeveloped parcel of land. The site will feature 96 units designated for adults aged 62 and older. All units will be income-restricted, with nine units available to seniors earning less than 60% of the Area Median Income (AMI). Additionally, 36 units will be reserved for extremely low-income individuals earning less than 30% of the AMI.

Hebrew SeniorLife emphasized the critical need for senior housing in the area, noting that there are currently around 5,300 older adults on the Stoughton Housing Authority’s waitlist. Construction for the project is expected to begin in 2026, with completion and opening targeted for 2027.
