Chevron is making another major move in its shift away from the Bay Area. After selling its 1.3-million-square-foot Chevron Park corporate campus back to Sunset Development in 2022 and relocating its headquarters to Houston, the energy company is now looking to exit the remainder of its office presence in San Ramon.

According to sources familiar with the transaction, Chevron has listed for sublease all 400,000 square feet of its remaining office space at 5001 Executive Parkway in Bishop Ranch.

The sublease offering comes amid a broader transformation of Bishop Ranch. Several major tenants have recently reduced their office footprints as Sunset Development repositions the corporate campus into a mixed-use community. The redevelopment plan includes replacing some of the office infrastructure with new residential and retail offerings, with a vision to construct 8,000 new homes by 2040.

Despite these shifts, Bishop Ranch has continued to attract leasing interest. In the first half of 2025, the property secured 15 new lease agreements totaling 254,000 square feet and completed 37 lease renewals.

This marks a significant evolution for the San Ramon business park as it adapts to changing market demands and the future of work.
