"Owners Announce Renovations for Closure of West End Mall"

The owners of Mall West End, BRP Companies and The Prusik Group, have announced their updated plans for the property after its closure. As the mall prepares to shut down at the end of January, the development team has been collaborating with long-standing tenants to ensure that the unique character of West End is maintained throughout its transformation.

During construction, several legacy tenants will be temporarily relocated to a space on-site at 850 Oak Street.

Upon completion, One West End will offer 125,000 square feet of retail space including a grocery store, fitness center and a variety of dining options from local boutiques. The residential component will consist of approximately 900 mixed-income units ranging from studios to three-bedroom apartments. Affordable housing options will also be available for those earning between 50% and 80% AMI. In addition to this, there are plans for student housing as well as a hotel with around 150 rooms and medical office space spanning over an area measuring about12 ,000 square feet.

Phase One is expected to be finished by2028.

To accommodate ongoing renovations,a temporary on-site location at850 Oak Streetwill serveas home baseforseverallegacytenants until workis completed.Followingcompletion,MallWestEnd’snew iteration -OneWestEnd- willofferan impressive125 ,000squarefeetofretail spacethat includesa grocery store,a state-of-the-artfitnesscenter,anddiverse diningoptionsfromlocalboutiques.The residentialcomponentwill featureapproximately900mixed-incomeunits,rangingfromstudios tothree-bedroomapartments,withaffordablehousingoptionsavailableforindividuals earningbetween50%and80%oftheareamedianincome(AMI). The first phase of the redevelopment is expected to be completed by2028.
