Capital Commercial Explores Plano Mixed-Use Venture

A mixed-use development is in the works for Plano’s Legacy Business Park, covering 107 acres and including the former JCPenney headquarters building (pictured). According to Community Impact, Capital Commercial Investments has proposed this project and it has already been reviewed by the Plano Planning and Zoning Commission. The City Council will vote on it next month.

The development will feature more than 700 residential units, with two towers being developed in partnership with Streetlights Residential. The residential portion of the project will be divided into two phases, each consisting of up to 365 units along with open spaces or a water feature.

In addition to housing, there are plans for a hotel offering 225 rooms as well as an office space spanning over 400,000 square feet. Capital Commercial has invested approximately $30 million into renovating the former JCPenney headquarters building which now includes amenities such as a gym and daycare facilities.

This exciting mixed-use venture is set to bring new life to Plano’s Legacy Business Park area. Stay tuned for updates on its progress from Connect CRE.
