"Plano Mixed-Use Venture Attracts Interest from Capital Commercial"

A new mixed-use development is in the works for Plano’s Legacy Business Park, covering 107 acres of land. The project includes the redevelopment of the former JCPenney headquarters building and has recently been approved by the Plano Planning and Zoning Commission.

According to Community Impact, Capital Commercial Investments is behind this venture and plans to build over 700 residential units on site. Streetlights Residential will be partnering with them to develop two residential towers as part of a two-phase plan. Each phase will consist of up to 365 units, featuring open spaces or water features.

In addition, there are plans for a hotel with 225 rooms and approximately 400,000 square feet of office space within this mixed-use development.

Capital Commercial has already invested $30 million into renovating the former JCPenney headquarters building by adding amenities such as a gym and daycare facilities. The City Council will vote on this project next month before it moves forward.
