"Walmart Invests $350M in Valdosta Dairy Processing Plant Construction"

Walmart is set to establish and manage a milk processing facility in Valdosta, Georgia. The construction of this new plant will require an investment of $350 million. Later this year, the company will commence construction and generate nearly 400 employment opportunities for the Valdosta community. This facility aims to produce dairy products that will be distributed among 750 Walmart and Sam’s Clubs stores in the surrounding region, with locally sourced ingredients from farmers.

This marks Walmart’s second venture into milk processing after successfully opening a similar plant in Fort Wayne, Indiana back in 2018. By taking control over production of one of the most cost-sensitive grocery items, Walmart has reduced its reliance on external dairy suppliers.

Following suit with other major retailers like Kroger who have their own dairies established for years now; retail giant Walmart continues to expand its operations by building a $350 million dairy processing plant in Valdosta.
