Diaper Maker Invests $418M in Macon Expansion

First Quality, a leading diaper manufacturer, has announced plans to invest $418 million in expanding its Macon plant. This significant investment will result in a 50% increase in production of diapers and training pants, as well as the addition of new manufacturing lines and an automated warehouse facility. The expansion is expected to create 600 new jobs with a minimum annual salary requirement of $33,000 per employee.

In addition to job creation and economic growth for the region, this expansion will also bring new products not currently available in North America. First Quality is committed to introducing cutting-edge innovations and enhanced features through this project which is set for completion by September 2025.

The Macon facility was acquired by First Quality when it purchased Covidien Retail Products back in 2008. Currently spanning over one million square feet with a workforce of 580 employees, the factory is located just southeast of Atlanta at approximately an hour’s drive away from the city center.
