"75 Acres Acquired for Elgin Mixed-Use Development"

Ashton Gray Development has acquired an additional 75 acres to expand its Briarwood project in Elgin, now totaling 205 acres. Construction for the first phase of development is currently underway.

Located on Farm-to-Market Road 1100 in Elgin, on the Travis County side of the Bastrop-Travis county line, Briarwood is a mixed-use development (MUD) with plans for approximately 772 single-family homes and a mix of commercial and open space spanning over 33 acres. The recent acquisition will add about182 townhomes, more mixed-use space covering19 acres,and an additional43acresof parkland and open spaces.

Briarwood marks Elgin’s first MUD within city limits. Residents and property owners will be subject to MUD regulations while remaining part of the city. This means that they will pay both MUD taxes as well as property taxes to the city of Elgin.
