Landmark Properties has successfully recapitalized The Mark Athens, a premier mixed-use property in Athens, GA. This 1,364-bed development includes student apartments as well as retail and office space and is conveniently located at 130 Hickory St., serving students of the University of Georgia.

The terms of this financing deal have not been disclosed. However, Landmark’s year-end closings for December 2023 totaled approximately $700 million across multiple transactions. According to CEO Wes Rogers, the resilience of the student housing sector has attracted institutional investors who are confident in its potential for growth.

The Mark Athens holds a special significance for Landmark Properties as it serves as their flagship property and also houses their corporate headquarters. Developed in two phases with phase one completed in 2017 (928 beds) and phase two completed in 2022 (436 beds), this property showcases Landmark’s expertise and commitment to providing top-notch student housing options.
