Local, state, and federal officials recently gathered with representatives from the union labor and construction industry at One Boston Wharf in Boston’s Seaport district. The event marked the unveiling of the first sidewalk made with Sublime Systems’ low-carbon cement, which was previously integrated into the building’s interior concrete lobby.
In a deal announced in 2021, Amazon has leased all of the office space within One Boston Wharf as part of WS Development’s 33-acre development in Boston Seaport. This adds up to over one million square feet for Amazon within this project. According to reports, One Boston Wharf is significantly reducing greenhouse gas emissions by more than 90% below code requirements and eliminating an impressive 5.1 million pounds of CO2 emissions annually.
During her speech at the event, Dr. Leah Ellis – CEO and co-founder of Sublime Systems – expressed her excitement about being a part of this beautiful building while also contributing towards a just future that prioritizes sustainability.” She also highlighted how crucial this commercial project has been in driving demand for their product on its way to market.
