Treenail Development Breaks Ground on $340M Town1 Mixed-Use Project in Huntersville

Treenail Development has officially broken ground on Town1, a $340 million mixed-use development in Huntersville, North Carolina. This ambitious 54-acre project is set to deliver a vibrant new community, combining residential, retail, office, and flex industrial spaces.

Town1 will feature over 700 residential units, including three distinct products: 327 urban flat apartments, 305 garden-style apartments, and 70 townhomes. The Junction at Town1, a key component of the residential offering, is being led by Blackburn Communities and will comprise the garden-style apartments and townhomes.

The development will also include 75,000 square feet of space dedicated to retail, restaurants, and neighborhood services. Plans for this portion of the project include designated pads for a brewery, a cantina, medical offices, and additional restaurant and service-oriented tenants.

In addition to the residential and retail elements, Town1 will introduce a significant commercial presence. A five-story, 120,000-square-foot office building is scheduled to be built by Geisler, contributing to the dynamic live-work-play environment envisioned for the site.

On the northern end of the property, a 17-acre business park is also in the works. This segment of the project will accommodate shallow-bay flex industrial buildings, expanding the scope of commercial activity within the development.

Town1 is expected to be completed by 2028. Once finished, it will stand as one of the most comprehensive and strategically planned mixed-use projects in the region, offering a balanced mix of living, working, and leisure opportunities.
