With It Sugar Land Loses 1,600 Workers as Fluor Departs

It’s sure to be a major blow to the town. After four decades, Fluor Corporation will say goodbye to its long-held 1 Fluor Daniel Drive location in Sugar Land. The prominent construction company is relocating all of its 1,600 employees and moving into a 13-story building in Houston’s Energy Corridor. Despite collaborative discussions for a new campus near the Smart Financial Centre, efforts by Sugar Land city officials to keep Fluor Corp were unsuccessful.

Fluor signed a 12-year lease agreement with Granite Properties for Three Eldridge building on North Eldridge Parkway – spanning 308,186 square feet – which will serve as their new Houston area headquarters. This modern campus features The Yard; an outdoor covered workspace with ample seating options; Wi-Fi; cafe and separate corporate training center .

This move marks the end of an era for Sugar Land but signals exciting changes ahead for both parties involved!
