Wingate Living has acquired Wingate Residences in Cranston, RI, a dedicated memory care community formerly known as Victoria Court. The transaction represents Wingate Living’s third property in Rhode Island and its only standalone memory care community in the state, further expanding the company’s regional footprint in senior housing.
According to the company, Wingate Residences at Cranston is already operating as a fully stabilized asset, with current occupancy at 100%. Wingate also states that the property is the only assisted living community located within the City of Cranston, giving the facility a unique position in the local market for seniors requiring memory care and assisted living services.
Alexandra Schuster, president of Wingate, described the acquisition as an important step in the company’s growth in Rhode Island. She noted that Wingate Residences at Cranston is already a thriving community and emphasized the intention to build on what she characterized as a strong existing foundation at the property.
As part of its business plan for the acquisition, the new ownership intends to invest in renovations and enhancements at Wingate Residences at Cranston. While specific project scope and timing were not disclosed, Wingate indicated that these improvements are aimed at supporting its broader focus on delivering personalized senior living experiences that reflect the needs and characteristics of each community it serves.
Schuster highlighted that Wingate’s priorities at the Cranston property include providing exceptional care and fostering meaningful connections among residents. She also pointed to the goal of maintaining an engaging and supportive environment for residents, aligning the acquisition with Wingate’s broader operating philosophy across its Rhode Island portfolio.
With this latest addition, Wingate continues to concentrate on memory care and assisted living offerings within the state. The Cranston community’s fully leased status and position as the only assisted living community in the city underscore its established role in serving local demand for senior housing and specialized memory care services.
