URW, the leading European commercial real estate company, has announced new details and a local developer for the next phase of Westfield Old Orchard Mall’s ongoing redevelopment project. Chicago-based Focus will serve as both general contractor and codeveloper with URW on the $100 million renovation, which will include 400 high-end apartments and 15,000 square feet of retail space. Construction is set to begin in 2022 with an expected completion date of 2027.
The former Bloomingdale’s store will be demolished to make way for these luxury apartments that will feature top-notch amenities such as a pool, lounge area, and gym. The mall itself will also see upgrades including a park and event space. This latest development adds to previous renovations at Westfield Old Orchard Mall which have already brought in popular brands like Arhaus home furnishings store , Puttshack mini golf experience ,and ZARA fashion brand into the former Lord & Taylor location .
