"Westbeth Artists Housing Secures 10-Year Commitment from The New School"

The West Village’s Westbeth Artists Housing has announced that it has signed a 10-year lease with The New School, securing their 20,000-square-foot space within the nonprofit housing and commercial complex. The School of Drama at The New School has been located in this complex since 2003.

Represented by Denham Wolf Real Estate Services’s Christopher Turner, Kate Hrobsky and Lauren Davis, Westbeth negotiated the lease agreement and is also handling leasing for other available commercial spaces within its complex. On the other hand, CBRE’s David Hollander, Larry Weiss and Maxwell Tarter represented The New School.

The space at 151 Bank St., spanning three stories over more than 20,000 square feet features a double-height theater room on its top floor as well as classrooms, set and costume studios, and offices.

Executive director of Westbeth Artists Housing Peter Madden expressed his excitement about having such a prestigious institution like The New School commit to another decade at their campus: “Westbeth prides itself on being an inclusive arts community, and having long-term members like The NewSchool only enriches our creative enclave.”
