Wentworth Institute of Technology has announced plans for a significant expansion of its Boston campus over the next decade, as reported by the Boston Business Journal. The expansion will include construction of approximately 1,400 new dorm beds and several new academic buildings.

The proposed development includes two modern dormitories on Huntington Avenue to replace Edwards and Rodgers Hall, providing a total of 672 beds. Additionally, Baker Hall will be replaced with a 13-story residence hall offering an additional 522 beds. Another eight-story residence hall with space for up to 217 students is also planned alongside a state-of-the-art athletics field house.

In addition to these residential developments, Wentworth intends to construct new facilities for its School of Architecture and Design as well as its engineering and management schools at the Annex complex. Renovations are also slated for Wentworth Hall which will feature a welcome center along with upgraded athletic facilities and outdoor public spaces. Pending approval from the Boston Planning & Development Agency (BPDA), construction is expected to commence in the coming year.
