Pennsylvania-based convenience store and gas station chain, Wawa, has officially begun construction on its first stores in Kentucky, Ohio, and Indiana. Each groundbreaking event included contributions to local community partners.
By 2025, Wawa aims to open nine stores in Kentucky. Over the next five to eight years, they plan to build and launch five to eight new locations annually in the Louisville and Lexington areas with a long-term goal of reaching 40 total stores throughout the state.
In Ohio’s Cincinnati area at 5308 Fields Ertel Road and Indianapolis’ East 96th Street at 3835 East location broke ground for their first Ohio store while also breaking ground on their inaugural Indiana location respectively. Both states can expect several more openings this year with plans for up to sixty additional locations each over time.
