Walker & Dunlop Expands Investment Sales Platform to Pacific Northwest
CRE Market Beat Take
Walker & Dunlop’s build-out of a dedicated multifamily investment sales presence in the Pacific Northwest reinforces institutional focus in an already highly traded market and adds another execution channel for regional owners and lenders.

Walker & Dunlop, Inc. has expanded its capital markets capabilities in the Pacific Northwest with the addition of Mark Washington as managing director of Capital Markets, Multifamily Investment Sales. Washington is based in Seattle and is tasked with leading multifamily investment sales activity for the firm across the Pacific Northwest region.

The move represents Walker & Dunlop’s formal entry into multifamily investment sales in the Pacific Northwest, which the company characterizes as one of the most actively traded multifamily markets in the United States. By appointing a dedicated regional lead, the firm is positioning its capital markets platform to address transaction and advisory needs for multifamily owners and investors in that area.

Washington brings institutional-oriented experience to the role, having worked on both the advisory and principal sides of the business over the course of his career. According to Walker & Dunlop, he has participated in more than $50 billion in capital markets transactions spanning a range of assignments and structures.

Within that broader track record, Washington has closed approximately $4.5 billion in investment sales, joint ventures, and development-related activity. His focus has been on complex multifamily investment sales engagements and on designing tailored advisory solutions for multifamily owners and investors, particularly in institutional contexts.

Prior to joining Walker & Dunlop, Washington served as an executive vice president on CBRE’s capital markets team in the Pacific Northwest. In that role, he concentrated on institutional multifamily investment sales, giving him direct experience with the region’s trading dynamics and capital flows.

Earlier in his career, Washington held positions with Eastdil Secured, JLL, and TH Real Estate. Those roles further deepened his exposure to institutional capital markets, investment sales, and strategic advisory work across the multifamily sector. Walker & Dunlop’s appointment of Washington aligns its multifamily investment sales platform with a professional who has long-standing relationships and execution experience in the Pacific Northwest.

With Washington now in place, Walker & Dunlop is extending its capital markets advisory footprint in a region noted for active multifamily investment activity. The firm’s expanded presence is designed to support multifamily investors and owners seeking guidance on investment sales, joint venture structuring, and development-related capital markets decisions within the Pacific Northwest.
