**VulcanForms to Build Third Advanced Manufacturing Facility in the Boston Area**
VulcanForms, a Devens, Massachusetts-based company pioneering the first fully integrated digital metal manufacturing platform in the United States, is expanding its operations. Backed by a $220 million late-stage funding round, the company plans to establish a third advanced manufacturing facility in the Boston area.
With existing operations in Devens and Newburyport, the company will construct a new site, VulcanThree, as part of a broader strategic expansion. This new facility will also be located in Devens.
“As part of this broader expansion, we are also planning for the VulcanForms Campus, a multi-facility environment that unites material production, additive manufacturing, post-processing, and machining within one integrated footprint,” said VulcanForms CEO Kevin Kassekert in a recent statement.
Kassekert emphasized that this move aligns with a national trend toward reshoring manufacturing capabilities. “Companies are bringing critical production back home and reducing reliance on offshore manufacturing for strategic metals and components. We see this across our customer base. More teams are designing with domestic production in mind from the beginning,” he added.
According to the Boston Business Journal, the new VulcanThree facility could be operational as early as July.
