Salmon-Safe is a non-profit organization based in Oregon that focuses on preserving West Coast watersheds for native salmon. According to Dan Kent, co-founder and executive director of Salmon-Safe, Vulcan was an early adopter of the LEED Rating System and their adoption of Salmon-Safe certification has played a crucial role in shifting the region’s development market towards projects that prioritize urban ecosystems preservation and climate resiliency.
As an active developer in the area with properties such as West Main – a three-tower project leased to Amazon – and Lake Union Piers – a revitalized retail and entertainment hub located in Seattle’s South Lake Union neighborhood – Vulcan continues to make significant contributions towards sustainable development.
