Vote on Proposed Miramar Mixed-Use Development Project

Sunbeam Development Corp. has set its sights on a 125-acre parcel of land in Miramar for the construction of a large mixed-use development. Pending approval from the town’s zoning board later this month, the project would encompass 2,874 multifamily units and be located at the northeast corner of Miramar Parkway and Red Road.

The proposed development also includes plans for a variety of amenities such as a 39,598-square-foot grocery store, 38,536 square feet of entertainment space (including an outdoor bar spanning over 3,000 square feet), an 8,600-square-foot daycare center ,128 ,386 square feet of office space with nearly100 thousand leasable square footage available to tenants. Additionally there will be retail shops/restaurants/bars totaling240 ,862squarefeetandaneight-story hotelwith185rooms,a21 ,730squarefootclubhouse,and13 acresofrecreation including two parks and7 ,859parkingspaces.

The apartment buildings are expected to range from seven to ten stories tall whilethehotelwillbe eightstorieshigh.AccordingtotheSouthFloridaBusinessJournal,the initial phase will consistofthreeeight-storyapartmentbuildingsandalsofeatureseveralrestaurantslocatedonaboardwalkaroundanewlake.Theprojectarchitect is Boulder-based firm505Design.

This massive mixed-use project in Miramar is now up for vote by local officials.
